Berkeley’s colorful history has been in part hued by the constant
presence of a large international community. It’s been molded by the
hundreds of cultures and shaped by the myriad customs brought from all
corners of the world to our own little nook of the Bay Area.
Each year, the campus sees a new influx of international students
choosing to attend UC Berkeley. As the years progress, all of these
global travelers will put down their baggage, and when it’s their turn
to venture elsewhere, they will leave a bit of themselves to
assimilate into our city’s history.
Whether you’re an international student or a Bay Area native, we all
have our own stories to tell.
And ultimately, no matter who you are, you are an ingredient in the
melting pot of cultures that make Berkeley what it is.
Destination Berkeley: editors’ note
Trudy has the largest bloom in the world — and it opens only once every four+ years.
The stink lasts only 8-12 hours, so keep checking online to make sure to catch it — or miss it!
Visit UC Berkeley’s Botanical Garden. Free admission for UCB students, 9:00-4:30 daily.
Current students: We are sorry that we could not open this past Friday to sign drop/add forms. You can add any Colwrit 6 or 7 course via MySummer or Telebears. If you have questions or need assistance, please come to 112 Wheeler Hall on Monday, 20 July. We will help you work with Summer Sessions to make sure you have all the credit hours you need for your visa or for financial aid.
