A Seminar Focusing on the Ultimate Business Tool—Protocol and Etiquette Intelligence Presented by Marcel Kristel, Etiquette Consultant, and Kim Flickinger, Fashion Consultant

In a rapidly expanding global economy, executives of all levels need to distinguish themselves from the competition. This seminar, created by the Protocol School of Washington®, provides the tools that give you the advantage in interviews, social settings and other areas of business.

 The world is experiencing a rapidly expanding global economy where the negotiating process doesn’t end when you leave the office; it has only just begun. In this global atmosphere, polished dining skills are very important.

Dine Like a Diplomat, an interactive tutorial created by the Protocol School of Washington®, provides the nuances necessary for a world-class competitor. The seminar will be presented by Marcel Kristel, Etiquette Consultant.

This Dining Skills Seminar will discuss:

  •  Business entertaining
  •  Toasting
  •  Table settings
  •  Silverware, glassware, napkins
  •  What to order

Last call — Oakland A’s tickets for TONIGHT

We have a few left for sale for tonight’s game — open to any summer sessions students.  Tell your friends to stop by Wheeler Hall 112 to purchase these tickets: $32 for entrance and a $10 food credit.

Hike to the Big C — all Summer Sessions students invited!

Are you interested in hiking? Do you want to explore Berkeley? Do you want to see the Golden Gate Bridge from Berkeley? Join Ellie and Jenny, Summer ESL Program Assistants, for a hike to a UC Berkeley landmark — the Big C!

WHERE: Meet in front of WHEELER HALL at 10am (please be on time)

Note: in front of Wheeler facing Sproul Hall, look for a girl wearing a bear hat

Please wear comfortable shoes and bring your own water. Don’t forget to put some sunscreen on before you arrive. We will provide light snacks for the hike.

Session E Placement

We will be sending out placement information via email on Saturday, July 26.  Check your inboxes!  If you do not receive an email, please come to Wheeler 112 on Monday: we can help you find your class and classroom.

Soccer comes to Cal Stadium~

Great News!!
We have twelve tickets to the Real Madrid / Inter Milan soccer (football) game this Saturday, the 26th, at Memorial Stadium.
We’ll be selling tickets at our office in 112 Wheeler. Drop by with exact change (the tickets are $76).
Additionally, we’ve got around five tickets left for the A’s game tomorrow .

Still want to catch the Oakland A’s baseball game?

Come by the Summer English Language Studies Office (112 Wheeler) to grab one of the 10 tickets we have left! $32 per ticket, $10 of which is a credit for food! The A’s are still in first place in the American League!

On Wednesday, if we still have tickets, we will open up sales to SELS students’ friends.

Session D add deadline has passed

Hope everyone has been able to add the courses you wanted.  All the drop/adds submitted have been processed.

We still have a few seats in Session E courses.

Come to Wheeler Hall Room 117 if your schedule does not list the classes you have added — or if you are still on a wait list.
